“You have an amazing opportunity to go far in this life son, one I never had ” my dad always tells me that when we think upon the future. My mom motivates me as well always reminding me that nothing is impossible and I can be anything I want to be in this world. That is the world I come from.
Coming from a loving Christian home my parents always supported choices I made they were and still are always in my corner rooting me on pushing me and keeping me going. One thing I can say about my folks is they’ve never let me quit that’s one of our agreements, they support me the whole way but I have to go through with whatever I am doing until the end. My father was the person who introduced me to cars when I was little we would go to the car shows, he would buy me hot wheels and model cars, and when he would work on our cars I was always watching him. It was contagious hearing the ratchets creek I just loved the sound of it so when I got a bit older I asked my dad if I could work on the car's small jobs like oil changes, tune ups, changing tires little stuff like that. After some practice he bought me a complete tool set as a gift and since then I've been working on cars and have moved on to much bigger jobs.
As we all know when you grow your goals grow as well. Now my goal is after high school I'd like to move to Scottsdale Arizona and attend the Universal Technical Institute a school that trains students to be automotive technicians for a certain industry. To be quite honest i did not have any knowledge about this school until my sophomore year when a UTI representative came to our auto shop and gave a presentation on the school it was then that I realized that that was my next step. Since I’ve always had a thing for cars this school would be perfect for me not only would I be doing what I love but also training for my future career.
My biggest blessing would be my family like I said in the beginning they've always been there for me when I need them and when I need advice. Part of the reason I want to continue my education after high school is to make them proud, I not only owe it to myself to go to school after high school but I feel like I owe it to my parents. Not because I feel like I am forced to continue my schooling it is because I always remember the words my parents tell me and want to succeed to make them proud of me and so I could help them out financially when all the schooling pays off.
Well these are my goals, my world, and the people who make me strong and keep me moving forward. I thank the lord for all the ups and downs he's given me and for the life I have been gifted with.
